I'm a software developer, speaker, and technical trainer based in Marlborough, CT. I'm president of my own company, Kousen IT, Inc., through which I mostly teach technical training courses in all areas related to Java, focusing especially on subjects like Android, Spring, Hibernate, Groovy, and Grails. I'm a regular speaker on the No Fluff, Just Stuff tour, where I give technical talks on topics as diverse as the Gradle build tool, building and testing Android applications, and managing your manager. I have a range of technical certifications, but don't do that much any more. I also have a lot of academic degrees, which include a BS in Mathematics and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from M.I.T., an MA and a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Princeton, and an MS in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I'm also an adjunct professor at RPI in Hartford, CT, where I teach an occasional graduate class.
