Rob Higgins

I was bought up in Stoke on Trent, surrounded by various ceramics at home (18-19th century commemoratives, Delft, Victorian tiles), and did some student jobs in potbanks before qualifying in medicine. I was a Professor at the University of Warwick, and worked on the kidney transplant unit in Coventry and after retirement ceramics are an ongoing interest, with books on William De Morgan, Portmeirion Pottery, Mid-century Modern Tiles and Arts and Crafts Tiles. My interest in history extends to transport, and I have been one of the first to take aerial images of UK railways using a drone, resulting in the publication in 2023 of 'Britain's Railways from the Air'.
