Rev. Dr. Jason DeRouchie (PhD, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is a churchman and Research Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO. He also serves as content developer and global trainer with Hands to the Plow Ministries. He is a passionate teacher committed to helping Christians to exalt Jesus and to treasure the hope of the gospel from the Old Testament. He has authored or edited a number of books, including A CALL TO COVENANT LOVE: TEXT GRAMMAR AND LITERARY STRUCTURE IN DEUTERONOMY 5–11 (Gorgias, 2007); A MODERN GRAMMAR FOR BIBLICAL HEBREW + WORKBOOK (B&H, 2009 [co-authored with Duane A. Garrett); WHAT THE OLD TESTAMENT AUTHORS REALLY CARED ABOUT: A SURVEY OF JESUS' BIBLE (Kregel, 2013); FOR OUR GOOD ALWAYS: STUDIES ON THE MESSAGE AND INFLUENCE OF DEUTERONOMY (Eisenbrauns, 2013); HOW TO UNDERSTAND AND APPLY THE OLD TESTAMENT: TWELVE STEPS FROM EXEGESIS TO THEOLOGY (P&R, 2017); "ZEPHANIAH" in DANIEL–MALACHI: ESV EXPOSITORY COMMENTARY vol 7 (Crossway, 2018); and 40 QUESTIONS ABOUT BIBLICAL THEOLOGY (Kregel, 2021). Before MBTS, Jason taught at Gordon College, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, University of Northwestern––St. Paul, and Bethlehem College & Seminary, and he served as a pastor of Oak Park Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, IN, and a teaching elder of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, MN. He has also published articles in BULLETIN FOR BIBLICAL RESEARCH, SOUTHERN BAPTIST JOURNAL OF THEOLOGY, THEMELIOS, JOURNAL FOR BIBLICAL MANHOOD AND WOMANHOOD, JOURNAL OF THE EVANGELICAL THEOLOGICAL SOCIETY, HEBREW STUDIES, JOURNAL OF BIBLICAL AND THEOLOGICAL STUDIES, TRINITY JOURNAL, and MIDWESTERN JOURNAL OF THEOLOGY. He has six children and resides with his wife near Kansas City, MO.
