Jonathan Mosse

关于作者

Born in Oxford in 1948, Jonathan was brought up in rural Yorkshire and later in mid-Wales. He inherited a love of the countryside from his father, a land agent, and spent several years lecturing in agricultural education after training as a farm manager. He went on to establish his own small business renovating period houses, indulging his passion for old structures in a hands-on capacity. More recently he has added an MSc in Conservation and the Historic Environment to his dubious clutch of formal, academic qualifications. Jonathan has researched and written the Nicholson Waterways Guides for over 30 years – and more recently The Times Waterways of Britain – having developed a fascination for Britain’s inland waterways whilst teaching. He currently lives on a 60ft narrowboat, moored on the Forth & Clyde Canal, near Glasgow. When not glued to a word processor, Jonathan can be found building a replica showman's living van, which he intends to use touring those parts of Britain that a narrowboat cannot reach. He also contributes a significant number of the photographs included in the Nicholson guides and nearly all those found within the Waterways of Britain editions.
