Joshua Davies (1974-) is currently a software architect at SiriusXM satellite radio, specializing in security and network programming. Previously, he was a principal architect at Travelocity.com and a consultant for One, Inc. where he designed solutions for customers such as AT&T, Digex, Nieman Marcus and the Mexican telecommunications giant Pegaso. He's been hacking on computers since his father brought home the family's first computer, a TI-99/4A, in 1982. With a bachelor's degree in computer science from Valdosta State University and a master's degree in computer science from the University of Texas at Arlington, he's been programming professionally for 20 years and as a result has never had to do any real work. Although he programs in Java to pay the bills, his passion is system-level programming, and his wife wishes that he would stop breaking the family's computers by repartitioning hard drives and cramming in as many operating systems as possible. He lives in Dallas, TX with his wife Lupita and two children Dylan and Isabelle.
