It wasn't until I worked in a large bookstore for the second time in my life,in my thirties, that I decided to put fingers to keyboard and start writing a book. Actually it was Pen to Paper at first, starting writing 'George & the Magic Radio' as I did, in a cafe in Sardinia. I find that writing on paper (or napkins, whatever comes to hand) then transcribing to a word document, suits me best. I can only ever seem to write in short bursts, maybe 500 words at a time, so 'George' took me the best part of One and a half years to finish.
I'm so thrilled that Kindle offers a way for unknowns like myself to get my work out there. I got knocked back by every traditional publisher I tried, and didn't much fancy self publishing physical copies that I might end up stuck with, so Amazon KDP has proven to be the best place for my book.
The three books I have available seem to sell a few each day, so somebody out there is reading them and I couldn't be happier. Unless someone offered massive book deal of course.
