Thomas O'Loughlin

I am the Professor of Historical Theology in the University of Nottingham; and my specialism is the origins of Christianity, but, more widely, I am interested in how Christianity has been transmitted down the centuries, and how its expressions have changed in that process. Mostly I write articles in academic journals tackle small areas or knotty problem in Christian history trying to find solutions. Almost all my books have been prompted by the needs/queries of my students over the years. Now, when I look at the number of books on this site (and several of my books, e.g. those published by Brepols, are not shown here), I realise how indebted I am to them! So, if I have taught you, thank you - some of the questions you asked me one day in class or at a tutorial may be lurking beneath the bookcovers you are now looking at!
