Kevin C. Kelleher (1954- ), a family physician in the Blue Ridge Mountains, is a lifelong backpacker, canoeist, and angler. Dr. Kelleher's enthusiasm for tenkara fly fishing was a natural solution to his backpacking search for lightweight but effective fishing gear. It grew to mean more...a simple, productive, inexpensive way to fish that doesn't interfere with the direct experience of stream craft and the natural world. The first book published in English on the fast growing sport of Tenkara, Dr Kelleher's goal is to engage people in the centering, uncluttered experience of the the quiet stream while having fun. Primarily for the beginning angler, the experienced fly fisher will find all they need to explore tenkara too.
