I'm a technology entrepreneur with two decades of experience in software start-ups. Using smart stuff to solve real problems for real people is what gets me up in the morning. And if I need to wind down a bit, then I'll pick up a guitar.
I've worked in the UK, North America and Europe, on projects in finance, retail, healthcare and life sciences, including a decade as the CTO of a game-changing healthcare start-up, taking it from four people in a room, to a globally distributed team helping prevent blindness for millions of people on four continents. Somehow, I also managed to find the time to write a book.
Since then, I've enjoyed helping numerous businesses large and small get started, or get bigger, or work smarter, or just improve the way they do their thing.
Whether it is a household brand like Chanel or Tesco; top-tier banks and financial institutions, or small start-ups just getting their foot on the ladder, there's always an interesting challenge to be met.
And I clearly forgot how much effort it was to do the first book. So there's another one - the latest edition of O'Reilly's premier C# title.
