Martin Adams

Dr Martin Adams is an Existential Psychotherapist, Supervisor, and writer. He is also a sculptor. He teaches Psychotherapy at the New School for Psychotherapy and Counselling, in London. He has published on subjects as diverse as, existential practice, human development, the experience of space, death, addiction, supervision, relationship violence and the case study. With Emmy van Deurzen he has written Skills in Existential Counselling and Psychotherapy published by Sage in 2011. The second edition of this book came out in 2016. He has also wrote A Concise Introduction to Existential Counselling which was published by Sage in January 2013. His most recent book is An Existential Approach to Human Development published by Palgrave 2018. Recent books he has contributed to are Case Studies in Existential Therapy ed Simon du Plock, and the Wiley World Handbook of Existential therapy. His work has been translated into Danish, Polish, Greek, Korean, Farsi, Spanish, Romanian, Chinese and Turkish.
