After 27 years of working and living in countries around the world I returned to my country of birth, Holland, in 2001. For the first time ever I got a culture shock. The country had changed so much since 1974 that it struck me as lightning. It finally cost me my second marriage and I continued as a single father taking care of my two daughters. The entire situation opened up my eyes to the way countries and communities evolve, in a positive but also negative way. My views resulted in a number of books that redefine human society, entrepreneurship and sustainoable human progress, called "sustainocracy". I founded the STIR Foundation to set up sustainocratic, purpose driven ventures involving government, business enterprises, science, education and the general public, all together. In 2012 we had a break through with the first true complex venture going live. More are there to come with this precendent at hand.
