Christopher A. Sink

Christopher Sink, Ph.D., NCC is currently a Research Associate in the Department of Psychology at Western Washington University (Bellingham WA). From 2015-2019, I had an appointment as a Professor and Batten Endowed Chair, Department of Counseling and Human Services (College of Education). Earlier, I spent 21 years as a Professor of Counselor Education at Seattle Pacific University (WA) and five years at Northwest Missouri State University, respectively. Prior to the professorship, I worked as a secondary and post-secondary counselor. I have many years of chief editorial experience in counseling-related journals (ASCA’s Professional School Counseling and ACA’s Counseling and Values). I have served on the editorial board of multiple peer-refereed journals, including The Professional Counselor (the National Board of Certified Counselors), Professional School Counseling (American School Counselor Association), Counselling and Spirituality (Canadian), Counseling and Values (American Counseling Association and Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling), and Journal of Research on Christian Education. I enjoy consulting (e.g., conducting program evaluations) for school systems and organizations as well as presenting at scholarly and professional conferences on a regular basis including those held in the U.S. and internationally. I have also served as a keynote speaker on multiple occasions. I published extensively in various areas related to school counseling, social-emotional learning (SEL), educational psychology, positive psychology, and research methods. I am a strong advocate for systemic and strengths-based school-based counseling.
