Gabriel M. Sawma was born in Beirut, Lebanon; graduated from the Lebanese University School of Law. Practiced law in Lebanon and supervised commercial contract througout the Middle East including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, the Arabia Gulf region, Europe, and North America. Nominated to a judge in Lebanon. During the 1975 Civil War, immigrated to the United States and joined my brothers who were studying here. Professor of the following courses at Fairleigh Dickinson University: Arabic, Middle East Constitutional Law, Islamic shari'a, Near East Civilizations as Source of Western Culture, Arab Culture and Civilization. Lecturer on Islamic banking and finance at the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom. Consultant on Islamic divorce in the United States and Canada. Lecturer on Islamic Shari'a; lecturer on the Aramaic influence in the other Semitic Languages. Editor in chief of International Law blog, http://www.gabrielsawma.blogspot.com. Admitted to the Lebanese Bar Association of Beirut; Associate Member of the New York State Bar Association; Associate Member of the American Bar Association. Wrote extensively on International Law, Middle East, Islamic terrorism, Islamic divorce in U.S. courts, Islamic economics, Aramaic influence in Biblical Hebrew and Aramaic influence in the Qur'an.
