Lindsey Joiner is a Positive Behavior Specialist with Meridian Public School District in Meridian, MS. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and National Certified School Counselor. She is also a Board Qualified Supervisor for the Mississippi Board for Licensed Professional Counselors. She is a member of the Mississippi Counseling Association and has served as secretary for the organization from 2008 to 2010. Lindsey has received the following professional honors: Outstanding New Counselor of the Year, Mississippi Counseling Association Emerging Leader, and Outstanding Education Graduate Student.
Lindsey is a graduate of Mississippi State University. She has an educational specialist degree in school counseling, a master's degree in community counseling, and a bachelor's degree in educational psychology. She holds an educator's license with endorsements in guidance counseling, vocational counseling, and special education. She is currently completing requirements for the school psychometry endorsement. Joiner has experience in both the school and community setting working with children and teens from preschool through high school with a wide variety of behavioral, emotional, and mental concerns. She has served as Day Treatment Supervisor where she supervised master's level therapists conducting group therapy and coordinated curriculum for the programs. Lindsey has also served as an adjunct profesor for the Counselor Education Department at Mississippi State University (Meridian Campus).
Lindsey is the author of The Big Book of Therapeutic Activities for Children and Teens: Inspiring Arts Based Activities and Character Education Curricula. The book was published in October 2011. Her most recent book, The Big Book of Even More Therapeutic Activities for Children and Teens: Inspiring Arts Based Activities and Character Education Curricula was published in November 2015.
