关于作者

| Connector | Change Facilitator | Education Policy Expert | Author | Award-Winning Interdisciplinary Scholar | I am a thought leader in education policy spaces. I am passionate about the impacts care-centered change can bring to school food and to teachers' work, specifically. I often focus on how policy and politics shape and are shaped by the intersectional qualities of gender. Over three decades in contexts across the Americas, in urban and rural communities, I have engaged with the power of connecting people in collaborative approaches to transforming social policy. What is policy? How does policy "work"? What's the problem that should be addressed? Who defines (or has defined) that problem and potential approaches to resolve it? These are fundamental questions to a critical policy education and decision-making process that can address communities' most pressing concerns to living well. It begins by caring more about the infrastructure of everyday life in and around schools and placing a greater value on it. When not working, I love to spend time with my family, friends, and neighbors, and to garden, run, embark on long-distance hikes, and to be immersed in the loud silence of nature. *Soy bilingüe/I am bilingual Spanish and English.*
