"We don't want to know anything!" That is what my husband, Paul, said as we entered the hotel/restaurant/gas station/grocery store/house somewhere in the dark and frozen morning of northern Canada. We were driving between our homes in Montana and Alaska when we stopped at this questionable oasis. I have a penchant for learning people's stories and Paul, probably wisely, went into protection mode. I am telling you this story so you know that I write about people when I write. When I talk, I ask questions, and when I wake, it is with a smile. Life is great, people are great, and I am happiest when my energy and spirit move others to success. A Certified Professional Coach, and entrepreneur, I am the Founder of Canvas Creek Team Building, a TEDx Speaker, and I've worked in sales, managed a direct sales field with 10,000 consultants and 50 million in annual sales, and owned several successful businesses. I was honored to receive the Governor's Award for Volunteerism. I proudly serve on several non-profit boards and run a page called "I'll Help" that fills emergent needs for families in our community. My clients include Walmart and Sam's Club home offices in Bentonville, 15 of the Forbes top 100 companies, and companies as varied as a law firm and a house painter. I spend hundreds of volunteer hours every year raising teen leaders, and I could not be more proud of the adults they become. Early in my business, I decided not to niche, hoping that a wide-open client list would provide a broader knowledge base to serve my clients and audiences. That was the best decision I ever made. I am fascinated by each of my clients, their journeys, and how often their experiences overlap. I write because I can't talk with everyone! My intent is for my stories to encourage people to: Ask themselves, "What's Next?" and then live their next! Choose the RIGHT excuse for moving forward in "What's Your Excuse?" and to become the best version of themselves as a leader in "Quiet Leadership." "Seasoned" is the story of my husband and his Fall with Jesus. (really...he fell/died/came back while hanging a crucifix-- a reakk fall with Jesus/) Once upon a time, I could remember every name I heard, so I wrote a book called "What's Your Name" and immediately lost the skill, probably because there are now millions of names crammed in that space between my ears. The info is still good, even if the author lost her skills. My latest book, Begin. Become. Believe. A Leadership Journey for Teens is probably my proudest effort. I am amazed by the people who said yes to contributing and how honest they were with their stories! I am humbled you have read these words and hopeful my books and my speaking engagements will encourage you to live forward into your best life.
