People often ask me why I write, and I just always say I can't NOT write. It's been a part of me for as long as I can remember. When I'm not busy crafting my next middle-grade novel, you might find me stuffed in my recliner beside my beagle Stella, reading. Or I might be walking in the field surrounding my North Idaho home, spending time with my husband and daughter, tending my small garden, or taking a soak in my hot tub. Once in a while, I do housework--but only when it's absolutely necessary :) I mean, honestly, is laundry really that important as long as you have clean underwear? I'm the author of "A Smidgen of Sky," a 2012 ABC Indie-Bound New Voices Pick, "A Million Ways Home," winner of both the Kansas William Allen White and the Missouri Mark Twain award, and six other contemporary middle grade novels.
