I have been living in Chengdu, China, for the last four years, and I'm loving it! I'm researching Tai Chi and studying Chinese language, religion, and culture, as well as writing and sometimes even working. I have won 5 medals in Chinese Tai Chi competitions (including 2 golds) and am a regular guest on local and national Chinese TV programs. Subjects on which I am supposed to be an 'expert' include Tai Chi, Western perspectives on China, and (with my Chinese wife) the joys and sorrows of being in a relationship with someone from a different culture.
You can see a documentary about my life here:

(in Chinese, but with English subtitles).
I'm currently working on two new books. One, 'Journey to the West', is a novel and quest story set in modern China that very loosely parallels the Chinese classical epic 'Journey to the West'.
The other is an account of my two years in China and of my many adventures here, in which I hope to show that China is, for all its many problems, also a fun, exciting, joyous, and sexy place, changing and progressing very fast, whose people are taking advantage of their new-found freedom and prosperity to fulfill their long-held dreams.
