Christian Lynch

Christian Lynch is a political scientist, historian, and jurist specializing in Brazilian political thought and the history of institutions. He is an associate professor at IESP-UERJ and a researcher at the Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa. A member of the Instituto Histórico e Geográfico Brasileiro, he holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the former IUPERJ and studied with Pierre Rosanvallon and Marcel Gauchet in France. Author of Fundações do Pensamento Político Brasileiro, O Populismo Reacionário, Rio: 2º Distrito Federal, Da Monarquia à Oligarquia (1822-1930), among other books, his works analyze liberalism, conservatism, and the role of the state in Brazil. He is also the editor of Revista Insight Inteligência and a columnist for the Meio portal, where he hosts the program Diálogos com a Inteligência.
