Julie A. Mucha-Aydlott, CFE, is the owner of Aydlott Fraud Examination specializing in fraud investigations, tax examinations, and internal controls for small- to medium-sized organizations. Julie is a Certified Fraud Examiner and QuickBooks expert who started her career in 1989 working for a small printing company. By 1994, she went out on her own and opened her own accounting and bookkeeping service. Julie became a CFE in January 2007 and changed the direction of her business to focus on fraud investigations and internal controls. Julie is the author of several books and instruction videos that include: How to Open Your Own In-Home Bookkeeping Service, 1st through 4th Editions; I have QuickBooks Now What: The Quick Guide to Small Business Budgeting, The Small Business Fraud Prevention Toolkit; and the Vitalics Internal Control System. Over the past 21 years, Julie has helped over 26,000 bookkeepers and accountants learn how to open a bookkeeping business with her In-Home Bookkeeping series. Her publications have been mentioned on Entrepreneur.com, MasterCard Business Essentials, Fox Small Business, and Newsday. Over the past twelve years, Julie has provided fraud prevention seminars to organizations in both the public and professional sectors, including The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, KREX TV, The Universal Accounting Center, ICBUSA, and SCORE. In August 2018, Julie successfully opened the Northern Colorado Area Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and is currently the Chapter President and in 2020 opened Business Fraud Prevention, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping lower the fraud risks in small organizations as well as elderly fraud and abuse. In May of 2022, Julie was the featured CFE in Fraud-Magazine.
