Abe Kruger is an accredited Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED Green Associate, LEED AP HOMES, LEED AP Neighborhood Development, BPI Building Analyst and Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Trainer and Rater. He is an active member of the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) National Technical Committee. He has conducted energy efficiency and conservation trainings for builders, renovators, home inspectors, contractors and homeowners around the country. He provides green building trainings and presentations at regional and national conferences, including RESNET, ACI (formally Affordable Comfort), Green Prints and Green Build. Mr. Kruger is accredited to perform EarthCraft House, LEED for Homes, NAHB Green Building and ENERGY STAR certifications. Mr. Kruger also frequently performs energy audits on commercial and mixed-use buildings.
Abe Kruger founded Kruger Sustainability Group (KSG) in 2009 to provide green building training, consulting and curriculum development for colleges, companies, utilities and nonprofits. KSG is committed to strengthening and expanding the green building community through education and outreach. KSG partners with organizations to empower builders, contractors and homeowners to green their homes and work places. KSG’s curriculum is used by York Technical College in SC, Tennessee Technology Center of Crossville, Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, and other organizations around the country.
Kruger Sustainability Group also consults on utility run Home Performance with ENERGY STAR, ENERGY STAR new homes, and low-income weatherization programs. Mr. Kruger also has extension knowledge of utility run efficiency programs and has worked closely with a number of utilities.
Abe Kruger is also the coauthor of two upcoming residential green building textbooks for Delmar/Cengage Learning. The first textbook, Green Building: Principles and Practices in Residential Construction, will be available December 2011. The second book, Residential Construction Academy: Green Building, will be available early 2012.
