Ian Hutchinson

Ian Hutchinson is Professor of Nuclear Science and Engineering at MIT, exploring the confinement of plasmas hotter than the sun's center, aimed at producing practical energy from nuclear fusion reactions, the energy source of the stars. He was born in England, educated at Cambridge University, and obtained his doctorate and his charming wife, Fran, from the Australian National University.
