Cynthia is a full-time writer and part-time freelancing journalist and copy editor. Her professional career as a writer includes creative non-fiction, narrative history, screenplay and television copy writing. BANYAN is her first novel and the first in the coming BANYAN Trilogy. Born in Fayetteville, TN, Cynthia grew up in Ft. Myers, FL, the setting for BANYAN. In a guest blog, Cynthia describes the historic Burroughs House in old Ft. Myers as the inspiration for BANYAN. How this story "welled up" out of her childhood impression of this house is almost as mysterious as the story itself. "...in those forty years, in the darkroom of memory, an image was developing; the house, which I remembered 'as through a glass darkly,' was building itself around me until suddenly I was in it, inside the green glow at the windows. I could hear the soft clacking of the palms outside. And I was not alone. I felt the first stirring movement of others in there with me. The people ghosting this house, like negative imprints on time, were emerging. And then Clara said quietly, 'That summer was so long, the summer after father killed himself. Hot, my God, we thought it would never end.' BANYAN was born." Cynthia posts narrative history articles serially on her website at www.my-personal-writer.com.
