LEIGH BYRNE is the author of “Call Me Tuesday” and “Call Me Cockroach”, two heart-stirring memoirs that recount with raw emotion how she survived and ultimately overcame her mentally unstable mother's brutal abuse. After the publication of her books, the opening of old wounds caused Leigh to slip into depression for years before she finally found the courage to write again. Her debut novel, “There's Been An Accident”, a romantic-suspense mystery, was a refreshing diversion from writing about her abusive childhood, but at times, while penning the novel, she found herself drawing from her own experience of “losing" her parents at a young age to convey the protagonist's inner turmoil. While Leigh admits that she’s not fully healed from her traumatic past, she has learned to accept it as part of her journey and to embrace the resiliency adversity has afforded her.
