Barbara Boroson

Barbara Boroson has the (arguably) good fortune to be both a long-time autism education professional and an autism parent. This means she is comfortable on both sides of the table at the special ed office, and also that she is tired a lot of the time. But because sharing is an important social skill, Barbara has made it her mission to share her hard-won wisdom with everyone who wants or needs it. Barbara travels the country guiding general educators and other professionals to reach students on the autism spectrum in order to teach them; helping general and special educators tune into the perspectives of special needs families—and vice versa—to maximize collaboration; and supporting parents as they tackle the daunting practical and emotional challenges of diagnosis, what comes after diagnosis, and what comes after that.
