Jonathan Karam Skaff is a Professor of History and Director of International Studies at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. During extensive travels in China he developed his research interests in China's frontier and trade relations with Inner Asia. He received his Ph.D. in History from The University of Michigan in 1998 and has received fellowships from the Institute for Advanced Study, National Endowment for Humanities, and the American Philosophical Society.
