Cathy Hester Seckman has been writing for publication since 1985, when she left dental hygiene temporarily to take a job as lifestyles editor for a small daily newspaper. Since then she has published thousands of newspaper articles, hundreds of magazine articles, a few encyclopedia entries, hundreds of indexes, and dozens of short stories. 2018 will see the release of Ohio Day Trips by Theme from AdventureKEEN Publishing, and another indie book, Too Many Secrets, written with Darlene Torday. On May 25, 2015, Arcadia Publishing released her latest book, 'East Liverpool,' a vintage look at her Ohio hometown, once the Pottery Capital of the World. In 2013, she indie-published 'H2O Mysteries,' a collection of short stories, with co-authors Darlene Torday and Debbie Schukert. It is available on Amazon as a paperback and e-book. 2012 saw the indie-publication of 'Bad Moon Rising,' a murder mystery set in the year between Woodstock and the Kent State shootings, with the same co-authors. 'Bad Moon Rising' is available on Amazon as a paperback, e-book, and audio book. In 2011, Cool Well Press published her first novel, a young adult time travel fantasy, 'Weirdo World,' available on Amazon and Nook. Dental hygiene is still a part of her life, and she divides her writing time between indexing, fiction, and non-fiction. Hobbies include motorcycling, camping, hiking, traveling, winemaking, and gardening/canning. She welcomes comments at cathy@cathyseckman.com.
