I've been a computer hobbyist since about 1981. My first computer was a Commodore Vic 20. The first computer that I built myself was an IBM XT clone. The operating system I used was DOS version 2. I have built many PC's since then. I have built and rebuilt these computers, frequently moving hardware and software between systems. I received a bachelor degree in computer science from Roosevelt University in Chicago. For five years I worked for Motorola as an Electronics Engineer. I've written all kinds of software from real-time test and vehicle control systems to word processing and graphics applications. I've designed all kinds of hardware from programmable security locks to engine control systems. Eventually I left Motorola to become the manager of an Electronics Engineering department at a material handling company. Along the way I received CompTIA A+ certification and became a Microsoft Certified Professional. When I tire of working in my computer lab, I go for a hike in McDowell Mountain Park, Arizona, which borders on my back yard. Each day starts with a beautiful sunrise over Four Peaks Mountain. Most of my Kindle eBooks are technical books; Digital Logic Design, Computer Anatomy, Computer Architecture, How to code 3D objects with X3Dom. My goal is to explain complex concepts in simple terms. Much of the clip art in these collections was drawn by myself using Inkscape, the free open-source vector drawing program.
