Charles R. Fitts

Charlie was raised near Minneapolis, Minnesota. He studied geology and biology as an undergraduate, and later studied geotechnical and groundwater engineering at Cornell University (M.S.) and the University of Minnesota (PhD). Charlie has worked in geotechnical and groundwater consulting since 1979. He is author of three groundwater modeling software packages: TWODAN, SOLUTRANS, and AnAqSim (analytic aquifer simulator). Charlie is professor emeritus at the University of Southern Maine and is presently busy with groundwater consulting and AnAqSim development. Charlie and his wife Claire have 5 boys and love outdoor activities including gardening, hiking, canoeing, and fishing.
