I'm a geologist. My career has ranged from analyzing kidney stones to 35 years in oil exploration. Butte's history, architecture, and people captured my interest like I thought nothing could, and have expanded my life significantly. I'm still passionate about geology, but now I'm passionate about Butte, too. My book "What Things Are Made Of" came out in March 2011; my writing blog focuses on it.
