David Ballard's first short story, "Child Support," was selected by Sue Grafton for inclusion in BEST AMERICAN MYSTERY STORIES, after which the story was optioned and turned into the successful short film, "Sporting Dog." His next short story, "Sorry About Your Dog," was later turned into the short film "Rattler," which won the HBO Comedy Arts Film Festival award for best short film. Another story, "Push," which appears in the anthology YOU DON'T SAY published in 2012, was also previously filmed as the short film "Push" starring Elisabeth Rohm. Another story has been optioned as a feature film and is planned for production in 2014. Recent publications include "Venom" in PULP! Summer/Fall 2012, "The Million Dollar Club" in EVOLUTION Volume 2, "Rings of Jupiter" and "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Super Saver Cinema 14" in THE SPECULATIVE EDGE, and an upcoming story, "A Brief History of Time Travel: Why it is a Chronic Headache and a Colossal Waste of Time," in Episode Two of the new digital magazine, FICTIONVALE.
