Jan M. Dougherty

Jan Dougherty, the Head Rag Dragger, has owned a residential cleaning company since 2004. She wrote ‘The Lost Art of House Cleaning’ in 2010 when one of her employees remarked, to her, “Why not just write this stuff down and sell it, everybody needs to know how simple cleaning can really be”. So, she did just that and found out, to her surprise, that women and men, of all ages, around the world, thought it was a good idea too and have bought her book! She has since retired and sold the cleaning company, but still continues to market her book, puts on organization/cleaning parties (Yay, a party!) and offers her services and advice to those faced with the challenge of cleaning, organizing and just trying to make it from here to there. The book is supported with a website; www.thelostartofhousecleaning.com that has plenty of articles and videos that addresses cleaning challenges that are not in the book. There is also a YouTube site: HeadRagDragger. She has been featured in Family Circle, Today.com, All You, Yahoo.com, Real Simple, Houselogic, Family Circle, ShopSmart and Ask a House Cleaner.
