Katrina Daly Thompson

Katrina Daly Thompson is Evjue-Bascom Professor in the Humanities and Professor of African Cultural Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with additional affiliations in Anthropology, Religious Studies, Language Sciences, Seconf Language Acquisition, and Gender & Women’s Studies. As a linguistic ethnographer, Thompson takes a discourse-centered approach to African cultural studies and an interdisciplinary approach to language, culture, and society. Their research explores the relationships between language, power, and identities in Tanzanian, Zimbabwean, and transnational Muslim discourse.
