Eido Frances Carney

Eido Frances Carney (see also author's page Mary Frances Carney) was born in Brooklyn, New York and eventually found her way to Japan where she completed priest training at Shoboji and Entsuji Temples. She received Dharma Transmission from Niho Tetsumei Roshi in 1997. She is the founding abbess and teacher at Olympia Zen Center in Washington. For ten years she was adjunct faculty at South Puget Sound Community College. She has lectured in the US and abroad, promotes the teaching and poetry of Ryokan, and is a published writer, poet, and painter.
