Brad Manard has been an writer and educator his entire life. His most recent book, "Mentors and Influence: Fun Stories and the Tranformational Impact of Lessons Learned in Life" was written based on his personal life experiences and their impact on his highly successful career as an educator including twenty-seven years as a school superintendent.
Brad's writing career began in 2008 with his highly successful first book, "Life Lessons of a Legend," the memoir of Key West, FL legend Captain Tony Tarracino. In 2001, Brad read Jimmy Buffett's "A Pirate Looks at Fifty" and playfully decided to become Jimmy Buffett. That interest led him to Captain Tony's Saloon in Key West where he met the aged but infamous Captain Tony Tarracino and learned the valuable lessons shared in "Life Lessons of a Legend."
Additional books include "Bush People of the Oasis," a novel about at-risk kids and the unique relationships and challenges they face while attending Oasis Alternative High School; "Fatal Flaw - A Cultural Misunderstanding," a novel inspired by true events around the cultural trauma created while leading a Native American settlement school, and "The White Room: A Photographic Love Story," an adventure-romance novel taking place in Estes Park, CO and Rocky Mountain National Park. Additionally, Brad and his wife, Dr. Carolyn Manard, co-wrote "OMG! Meeting Magic in Education," an educational book guiding parent/educator cooperation based on Carolyn's successful collaborative philosophy.
Retired as an educator, Brad is a full-time author and nature/wildlife photographer in Estes Park, CO where he is owner of RMNPhotographer Tours and Photography. He and Carolyn live in Estes Park, CO and Clearwater Beach, FL.
