Building a home while starting a family and teaching handicapped children in the public schools were all part and parcel of Richard's cordwood home construction adventure in the early 1980's. Writing articles for the rapidly expanding Mother Earth News helped to foster interest in this old fashioned, log by log construction technique. Since then, he has continued leading workshops, organizing cordwood conferences and providing hands on building parties. All these activities, including collecting a portfolio of hundreds of cordwood homes, has made Richard the leading proponent of a 'Best Practices' approach to natural building. This is meticulously documented in his newest book: Cordwood Construction Best Practices (print & Kindle edition). www.cordwoodconstruction.org
