John D. DeSain was raised in Saratoga Springs New York and attended Siena College where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. I then earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Physical Chemistry at Rice University in Houston, Texas. I've previously worked in the combustion chemistry field at a national laboratory and am currently a research scientist in the Aerospace field in California. My early research focused on reaction kinetics, thermochemistry, and reaction mechanisms of species involved in propulsion systems and propulsion science. My current scientific research interests include investigating existing and novel space propulsion systems and environmental issues such as green propulsion, space debris, ozone destruction, and global warming impact. All of which seems to creep into my writing... I enjoy reading mysteries, science, and classic literature. My favorite authors are Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, Agatha Christie, and Stephen Jay Gould. Just to name a few. None of whose works resembles mine in the least. My favorite comedian is George Carlin. Why did I write a one off book poking fun at today's current political climate; how can one listen to the noise it generates and not disrespect it. I've always had an interest in science and politics. I wrote a book that tries to look at the serious state of things filtered through the process as it is. If the process makes things appear ridiculous the people in the process only have themselves to blame. I try to use their word and phrasing to emphasize to me how silly they all sound.
