Devi Dutta-Choudhury

Devi Dutta-Choudhury is a licensed architect based in Berkeley, California. She founded Devi Dutta Architecture in 2008 in response to what she saw as a growing need for design services that were both modern and casual, and attuned to daily living. She started with small projects renovating Victorians in San Francisco and Bungalows in Berkeley. Her firm has since grown to a design studio that enjoys working on a range of project types from larger multifamily and commercial projects down to neighborhood coffee shops. She is particularly focused on housing at all scales, and creates livable and beautiful spaces for all types of residents.

Devi attended Tulane University and UCLA, where she received her two master’s degrees in architecture. She has taught at California College of the Arts and the Academy of Art, both in San Francisco, and is the current board chair at the American Institute of Architects, East Bay
