As years of homeschooling her children began to come to an end, Kelsy realized she would soon be roaming her house with a cup of coffee in one hand, and too much time in the other. Looking for creative ways to fill her days and perhaps work from home, she soon discovered the little known genre of micro macramé, which appealed to her in part because of its nominal startup costs. With encouragement from her husband, she lost no time in studying this art form, but soon realized that most of the projects available were written in the tightly woven Cavandoli technique. Yet the more open-weave style arrangements she favored, like Margaretenspitze (or Margarete Lace) were almost exclusively written in foreign languages.
Always one to make a way where there is none, she purchased and waded through a book written in Italian. Soon after, Kelsy began developing her own patterns, adding her unique vision to the world of micro macrame. She now has several books in print and has written over 40 original designs.
After making her mark in the world of micro macrame, she expanded her creativity to include designing Illustrated Journals. These journals are perfect for doodling, taking notes, coloring, organizing your thoughts, or as a bullet journal. She loves making Illustrated Journals because they are flexible and fun!
An Oregon native, Kelsy currently enjoys residing in Texas with her husband and youngest daughter. When not fashioning new works of art, she can be found reading, or chasing after that perfect cup of coffee.
