Ben Alamar has over 15 years experience building and leading high performance data science/analytics teams and has been a leading innovator in sports analytics. Ben spent four years at ESPN leading their sports analytics team as well as over seven years building analytics groups for NBA teams, including the Cavaliers and Thunder. Additionally, he has done significant research in the field, taught, worked with several sports analytics startups, the US Olympic Committee and lectured at Columbia, MIT, George Washington University, and the University of San Francisco. Additionally, he wrote Sports Analytics: A Guide for Coaches, Managers, and Other Decision Makers which is used at multiple university as a text for their sports analytics classes and was the founding editor of the Journal of Quantitative Analysis in Sports.
