I was born in Denmark in 1952; but I moved out when I was 20, and I live in Singapore now. I started studying economics and finance in 2013, and I am now a qualified financial fund manager and analyst. However, I am sceptical about what is happening in our economy at the moment, I suspect much of our economic (or uneconomic?) GDP growth and overconsumption is detrimental to the environment, and therefore I urge my readers to position themselves carefully for an uncertain financial future ahead. I have enjoyed writing since they taught me how to do it, I had my first three books published in 1971, the year I graduated from high school. The next three came out in 1973, and those actually helped me become financially independent at an early age. My new book, 'Be Financially Free' (on Marshall Cavendish, 2016) is somewhat autobiographical, you can read more about all that there. I retired from the oil business in 1986 and started photographing birds; a few books resulted from that over the years and two of those (published by Tuttle Publishing) are still in print. We just did a reprint of 'A Photographic Guide to the Birds of Indonesia' in 2015 where we updated all the taxonomy and the nomenclature and improved some of the photographs; this book is important to me, as I have a long affiliation with that country, and it is the only bird book out there which treats the nation as one entity. In all modesty, I hope my writing has contributed a little bit to a better world.
