LaVerna Mitchell, is an Author of non-fiction literature with messages that educate, motivate, stimulate and challenge the reader to not settle for less, but to achieve more in every aspect of life.
She has a passion for truth and knowledge; and for experiencing life to its fullest. She is a native of Omaha Nebraska and currently lives in Arlington, Texas in the heart of Dallas/Fort Worth Metropolitan area. After completing a Bachelor Degree in Sociology and a Master of Public Administration Degree at the University Of Kansas at Lawrence, Kansas she moved to Texas to pursue a career in government. For over 20 years she worked in budget development and planning and management positions primarily in municipal government. In 2011 she transitioned out of government to become an Entrepreneur, Writer, Spiritual Teacher and Life Coach.
In addition to her public sector career, she has spent a lifetime in spiritual study, development and service and has been influenced by Traditional Christianity, Radically Inclusive Christianity and New Thought Spirituality. She has completed course work at Brite School of Divinity at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth Texas, Biblical Studies Certification Courses at Dallas Theological Seminary and received a ministry license from The Potter’s House of Dallas School of Ministry. She has also studied the teachings of Thomas Toward, James Wattles, James Allen, Florence Scovel Shin, Napoleon Hill and other new thought spirituality teachers.
