Svetlana Petrova

Svetlana Petrova is a professional artist and a crazy cat lady. In 2011 she launched FatCatArt.com and started the Fat Cat Art project: an experiment to create an Internet meme combining art history and the spirit of LOLcats. Her "famous paintings improved by cats" went viral and became an Internet sensation. Her feline co-author and mews, Zarathustra, is a ginger tabby cat, the first in the world non-human contemporary artist. She adopted him when her mother died. Her mother loved him so much that she spoiled him. Zarathustra weighed 10 kilos of pure undisturbed joy, although he tried to diet. Fat Cat Art project takes part in exhibitions throughout the world and makes new famous paintings improved by cats.
