All three volumes of the ATKOI WAR TRILOGY (SLAVE GIRL OF AKKADIS, SLAVE GIRL OF ZIANDAKUSH, and SLAVE GIRL OF NENUPHAR) are now available in paperback on Amazon. Greetings, friends and fans of the Atkoi! Welcome to the Henry Sparrowhawk / Atkoi War / Atkoi Slave Girl author page. I was not always a writer. I used to have a boring but adequately paid job. But I have always wanted to write, and I have loved books for as long as I can remember. Eventually I decided it was time to do what I really wanted to do, so I gave up my job to become a virtually unpaid writer, at least until the money runs out. I wrote 'Slave Girl of Akkadis' because I love the old classics of science fiction - Asimov, Heinlein, Anderson, Frank Herbert's 'Dune' - and I also love good quality bondage literature. The problem is that almost all bondage books are remarkably, breathtakingly poorly written. I wanted to write something different - with believable characters and situations. You cannot empathise with a character who is shallow and one dimensional, nor immerse yourself in a book with no genuine plot but only a series of improbable poorly written scenarios. It's like having a relationship with a blow up doll instead of a real partner or spouse. I am also a keen student of history and I wanted the Atkoi epic to read as though it really happened. Hence the quotes at the beginning of chapters, and the background information. The story behind the Atkoi trilogy seemed to me a book just waiting to be written. Imagine a barbarian horde, united together by a charismatic leader - like Attila the Hun perhaps, or Genghis Khan - raping, looting and pillaging their way through the civilised world. It happened in antiquity. It's happening now. If Man ever colonises the stars it will still happen. Civilisation is not inevitable. Perhaps the whole of human history is the story of the conflict between barbarism and civilisation. By the way, can you please do me a huge favour? Write a book review of any of the Atkoi War / Atkoi Slave Girl books you have read. I am really very interested to know what you, the reader, think. I know people are buying the book, but I cannot tell what they like or dislike about it. It's quick, easy and anonymous. Click on the appropriate place underneath the book details on the book page. Also please click on the discussion button to post your comments or questions. Are there any characters you want to read more about? Are there any villains you think are especially deserving of a nasty comeuppance? What did you like best? Is there anything you did not like? I want the books to appeal to science fiction lovers as well as bdsm fans, but most purchasers appear to be more interested in the latter genre. I have therefore published them in two slightly different versions - but only the covers and the prologues are different, and the titles are slightly different. The new version might appeal more to SF fans. The three books of the trilogy are: Slave Girl of Akkadis Slave Girl of Ziandakush Slave Girl of Nenuphar A very inexpensive introductory volume which gives a very brief foretaste of the series is called: Slave Girl: Sold And for those who prefer a quick read, I have also published a series of short stories or novellas which retell incidents from the Atkoi War with some of the background detail removed. This is called the Atkoi Slave Girl series. Those of you who have already added reviews - thank you, I do appreciate it. And do please add any comments or questions. Good reading. Henry Sparrowhawk
