William Bardel is an information designer whose work revolves around making data, ideas and places easier to access and understand. Given his trade, he walks around the world perpetually annoyed by bad maps, confusing signs, distorted data charts, and poorly crafted instructions (who is not?). With an eye for clarity, William has designed sign programs for cities, airports, and mass transit systems, along with print maps, infographics, annual reports, dynamic information displays, and statistical data visualizations. He holds a degree in English from Kenyon College and a Masters of Design from Carnegie Mellon University. His writing and designs are featured in several books, including "Best Informational Diagrams 2" and "80 Works for Designers". He regularly lectures on the design process, ideation and wayfinding.
