Swati Sengupta

Swati Sengupta is an author and gender rights educator. She is the author of Guns On My Red Earth (Rupa, May 2013), Half The Field Is Mine (Scholastic, July 2015), Out of War (Speaking Tiger, December 2016), the Incredible Life series (Speaking Tiger, 2022-24; eight non-fiction books for young readers on Birsa Munda, Jhalkaribai, Savitribai Phule, Arati Saha, Bhagat Singh, Satyendranath Bose, Anandibai Joshi and Milkha Singh), Murder In The City (Speaking Tiger, February, 2018, translation from Bengali), The Talking Bird (Tulika, January 2014) and A Tea Garden Party (Pratham Books, 2012). Swati runs a gender workshop series for the young titled The Elephant In The Room. A former journalist, she has worked for over two decades with leading newspapers in India.
