Jeannette Guerrasio, MD is a practicing primary care internist in practice at Menerva Medicine. She graduated from Albany Medical College and completed her residency at the University of Connecticut. While practicing at the University of Colorado, she became a Professor of Medicine. Dr. Guerrasio developed a pioneering approach to medical education by creating individualized learning plans for struggling residents and medical students, and served as the Director of Remediation, for the School of Medicine for both Undergraduate and Graduate Medical Education. She went on to author Remediation of the Struggling Medical Learner, editions 1 and 2, and Remediation Case Studies: Helping the struggling learner. In addition to education, she is equally committed to the clinical care of patients, with expertise in both adult medicine and geriatrics, having published Embrace Aging: Conquer Your Fear and Enjoy Added Years. She has contributed to several quality improvement projects at the University of Colorado Hospital to improve geriatric assessments and to decrease delirium, functional decline, and urinary tract infections in this vulnerable population. Dr. Guerrasio is a member of the Society of General Internal Medicine's (SGIM) Academic Hospitalist Task Force (AHTF). She has been a course director for various national meetings including Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM), Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM), Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM), Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and the Federation of State Physician Health Programs (FSPHP). Most recently, she was awarded the Humanism Award, chosen as the Clinical Sciences Teacher of the Year by the medical school graduating class, and inducted into the Academy of Medical Educators and the University of Colorado's President's Teaching and Learning Collaborative.
