Daniel Sweeney, Ph.D., LMFT, LPC, RPT-S is a Professor of Counseling, Director of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, and Director of the NW Center for Play Therapy Studies at George Fox University in Portland, Oregon. He also maintains a small private practice, working with children, couples, and families. Daniel is a past board member and president of the Association for Play Therapy.
He presents nationally and internationally [6 of 7 continents!] – on the topics of play & sandtray therapy, filial therapy, and trauma interventions. He has published articles, book chapters & books on child counseling, play therapy issues, families and parenting. Daniel's books have been translated into Chinese, Korean, and Russian. He and his wife live in Portland, Oregon near their four adult children and grandchildren.
