Murray Carpenter is the author of Sweet and Deadly, How Coca-Cola Spreads Disinformation and Makes Us Sick, and Caffeinated, How Our Daily Habit Helps, Hurts, and Hooks Us. As a freelance journalist focused on health, science and environmental stories, he has reported for the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Boston Globe. His radio stories have aired on NPR, PRI’s The World, and Science Friday. He has written for a number of magazines, including Wired, National Geographic and Audubon. And he has worked as a radio reporter for Maine Public Radio, and as a newspaper reporter for Maine Times and The Republican Journal. He lives in Belfast, Maine.
