Soon after Kristin Leal arrived to New York City in 1993 to pursue her dance career, her friend dragged her to her first yoga class at the old Jivamukti Yoga school. While she had no idea what anyone was talking about, she immediately fell in love with the poetry of meditation in movement. She has been honored to lead many workshops and teacher trainings around the world, and in 2005 Kristin created the Kaya Yoga 200- and 300- hour teacher trainings to share her passion for the miracle of the human body and the liberating potential of movement and stillness. In 2003 she created the MetaAnatomy 100-Hour training which blends serious scientific knowledge with a sense of humor and a deep connection to the divine within us all. A licensed massage therapist since 1995 (Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy), she holds additional certification in Reiki, Thai massage and neuromuscular and myofascial release, and helped design and teach the ISHTA Yoga Marma Therapy training. She is coauthor of the book Yoga Fan: Practice Guide for Everyday (2003). For more, please visit kristinleal.com
